Ara, Bhojpur: In a significant move to strengthen police-public engagement, the Bihar Home Department has directed Police Superintendents (SPs) to personally hold “Janata Darbar” (public grievance sessions) at local police stations. Following this directive, Bhojpur SP Mr. Raj conducted a Janata Darbar at the Nawada Police Station in Ara on Wednesday, addressing citizens’ complaints and issuing immediate action orders to the concerned police officers.
This initiative, part of the SP’s special program “Aapke Dwara Janata Darbar”, is designed to ensure that public grievances are heard and resolved promptly. By personally attending the police station, the SP emphasized the seriousness of the program and the administration’s commitment to citizen-centric policing.
Listening to Public Grievances
During the session, Mr. Raj not only listened to complaints from ordinary citizens but also sought suggestions from local representatives to improve the effectiveness of the Janata Darbar. The main objective of this initiative is to ensure swift resolution of cases, enhance police-public relations, and improve the overall quality of policing.
As per instructions from the Home Department and Police Headquarters, each SP is expected to visit a local police station at least once a week to directly hear citizens’ grievances and oversee their resolution. Acting on these orders, Mr. Raj personally addressed the complaints received at Nawada Police Station and directed officers to ensure timely and satisfactory solutions.
This step marks a significant effort toward making police services more accessible to the public and providing quicker justice, reflecting the Bihar Police’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective citizen engagement.
