Nawada: Muslim organizations in Bihar have strongly raised their voices following the lynching of Mohammad Athar Hussain in Nawada district. They are demanding compensation for the victim’s family, along with government job support for his wife and educational and healthcare assistance for his children. The demand has also received backing from Imarat-e-Sharia.

According to reports, Hussain, a clothing vendor, was brutally attacked on December 5 in Bhatta village. Eyewitnesses stated that his identity was confirmed before the assault by asking for his name. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment on December 12.

Demands for Justice and Compensation
Addressing a press conference in Phulwarisharif, Mufti Mohammad Saeedul Rahman Qasmi, Nazim of Imarat-e-Sharia, described the incident as extremely serious and demanded strict punishment for the perpetrators. “The accused must be swiftly tried and given the harshest punishment,” he said. Representatives from Jamiat-e-Islami Hind, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Idar-e-Sharia, and other organizations were also present. They urged authorities to implement concrete measures to curb the rising crime rate in Bihar.

Details of the Incident
Mohammad Athar Hussain, a resident of Gagan Diwan village, was attacked near Bhattapar village under Roh police station on December 5 when his bicycle broke down and he stopped to repair it.
