Patna: Bihar Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has issued a stern warning to corrupt officials, sand mafias, and land mafias, stating that the government is systematically tackling malpractice in the department. Speaking on Wednesday, the minister used a metaphor, saying that the “dose” to cure the “disease” of corruption is being administered gradually to avoid adverse reactions, but assured that no one will escape action.
“Curing the Disease Slowly”
“Miracles don’t happen overnight. This is a disease, and we are administering the dose slowly. Giving too much at once could cause reactions or unintended consequences. Step by step, we aim to cure this disease. I am confident that by 31 March, Bihar will have a healthy and positive environment, and every Bihari will feel proud of the government’s new initiatives,” Minister Sinha said. He emphasized that all directives from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are being followed, and corrupt officials in the Revenue and Land Reforms Department are being dealt with firmly.
Ongoing Action Against Malpractices
Minister Sinha highlighted that anyone attempting wrongdoing will face consequences. “Those spreading disorder in Bihar will not be spared. We are identifying such individuals—whether land mafias or sand mafias—and acting transparently and decisively. The expectations of the public from the Land Reforms Department are rising, and our goal is to meet their trust,” he added.
Zero Tolerance for Land Mafia Activities
During recent review meetings with Deputy Collectors (DCLR), Sinha directed officials to ensure timely disposal of pending land cases, update farmers’ records, and take strict action against land mafias. He reiterated that there will be zero tolerance for fraud, fake documents, middlemen, and mafia activities. The minister has also conducted public welfare dialogues in Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Saharsa, and other districts to reinforce accountability.
According to Sinha, the government is committed to ensuring good governance, transparency, and protection of citizens’ rights, leaving no room for illegal activity in land-related matters.
