Patna, Bihar: The Bihar government has taken strict action against Circle Officers (COs) on strike, seizing their official vehicles and digital access, and enforcing a “No Work, No Pay” policy. Secretary of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, C.K. Anil, warned the striking officers that failure to resume work immediately could lead to dismissal.
The strike, called by the Revenue Service Association on Monday during the budget session, was deemed “unjustified” by the government. In a high-level meeting attended by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha, Secretary C.K. Anil issued a stern warning, saying, “If the strike is not called off immediately, officers may face termination from service.” The action has caused shockwaves across administrative corridors.
Government Takes Tough Measures
District authorities have been directed to reclaim all official vehicles from striking COs. Additionally, digital signature dongles and keys to critical government records have been confiscated. Salaries for the period of the strike will also be withheld under the “No Work, No Pay” policy.
Essential Services Maintained
To minimize disruption to citizens, the department has assigned senior clerical staff to handle CO responsibilities in their absence. This ensures that essential work related to land records, applications, and revenue matters continues without delay.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha is closely monitoring officers who show negligence, and this action is part of the government’s broader efforts to maintain administrative discipline during the crucial budget session.
