Patna: In a major relief for Haj pilgrims in Bihar, the Nitish Kumar-led state government has announced a special arrangement to make the medical verification process faster and more convenient. The Bihar government has directed that special medical camps be organized across all districts, ensuring that Haj pilgrims receive their medical examination and report on the same day.
The decision has been taken to prevent pilgrims from facing unnecessary delays and repeated visits to hospitals for collecting medical reports.
Medical Camps to Be Held from February 10 to 15
According to official information, special medical camps will be organized between February 10 and February 15 at the Sadar Hospitals of all districts in Bihar.
The instruction has been issued by Mohammad Sohail, Secretary of the Minority Welfare Department, keeping in mind the convenience of Haj pilgrims who often travel from distant locations for mandatory health check-ups.
Same-Day Medical Report Mandatory
The Secretary has clearly instructed concerned authorities that after the medical examination, the medical report must be handed over to the pilgrims on the same day. This step aims to reduce hardship for pilgrims who otherwise have to wait several days for reports or make multiple trips to hospitals.
2,569 Haj Pilgrims from Bihar in 2026
This year, a total of 2,569 pilgrims from Bihar are scheduled to travel for Haj. As per the official schedule, the Haj Yatra 2026 will begin on April 18 and continue till May 5, 2026.
Good News for Minority Students Too
Along with the Haj-related initiative, the Minority Welfare Department also issued an important message for students from minority communities. Secretary Mohammad Sohail appealed to eligible candidates to take maximum advantage of the State Coaching Scheme, which offers free coaching support for competitive exams.
He also directed officials to ensure that the entrance examination scheduled for February 8 is conducted in a smooth, transparent, fair, and well-organized manner.
Aim of the State Coaching Scheme
The scheme has been launched to provide minority youth with free, high-quality coaching to help them prepare for major competitive examinations such as:
- Civil Services
- NEET
- JEE Mains
- and other national-level exams
The main goal of the initiative is to ensure that students from minority communities receive better educational opportunities and improve their chances of success in top-level examinations.
Administrative Focus on Convenience and Transparency
With these new steps, the Bihar government has once again highlighted its focus on public convenience and welfare schemes. The same-day medical reporting system is expected to greatly benefit Haj pilgrims and reduce procedural delays in the upcoming Haj season.
