Bihar Election 2025: Congress Leader Questions Mega Alliance Loss, Blames Voter List Irregularities

Patna, Bihar: The results of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 have handed the keys of power back to the NDA alliance. According to the Election Commission’s official updates, the BJP is leading on 81 seats and JDU on 80 seats. On the other hand, RJD has gained a lead in 33 seats and Congress in only 5 seats. With these figures, the NDA is on course to form a full majority government in Bihar.

However, Congress leader Udit Raj has pointed to another reason for the mega alliance’s defeat—not EVMs, but the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) of voter lists.

Allegations of Voter List Discrepancies

Speaking on the NDA’s lead, Udit Raj said:
“This is not BJP’s or JDU’s victory—it is the Election Commission’s victory, the victory of SIR. Even after the voter list was finalized, millions of discrepancies were reported, but the Commission did not address a single one. There were 89 lakh objections raised, yet no action was taken. When such levels of unfairness occur, what can one say?”

Questions on Sudden NDA Surge

Udit Raj also questioned the source of the NDA votes, stating:
“Rallies of Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav were massive, while BJP rallies had empty chairs. Where did all these votes come from? In several places, people directly opposed BJP candidates, yet how are they winning? Many voters were sent back even with digital slips. Clearly, the SIR process influenced the results.”

NDA Partners’ Performance

Apart from BJP and JDU, NDA allies have also fared well. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leads in 22 seats, while Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) leads in 4 seats. Analysts expect the full picture of Bihar’s election results to be clear within the next hour.
