
Bagaha, Bihar: In a shocking turn of events, two young individuals who had gone missing five months ago in Bagaha, West Champaran district, were found dead, their skeletons hanging from a tree in a forested area near Madanpur in the Valmiki Tiger Reserve. The discovery has sent shockwaves through the local community.
The police, along with the Forensic Science Team and Forest Department officials, reached the site immediately after receiving information. Items recovered from the scene included clothes, footwear, a mobile phone, and a suicide note kept in a plastic bag. Based on evidence and local inquiries, the skeletons have been identified as 20-year-old Akhilesh Yadav, son of Heerman Yadav, and a local girl who had been studying in fifth grade. Akhilesh had completed his intermediate studies and helped with household work. Both had been missing since September.
Background of the Case
According to the families, the girl’s father had filed a complaint at Laukaria police station on 16th September, accusing Akhilesh and six others of abducting her daughter with the intent of marriage. Akhilesh’s mother had also filed a petition in court related to the dispute. Despite extensive searches over the past five months, no trace of the couple was found until now.
Investigation Underway; Suspicion of Foul Play
The discovery of the skeletons has intensified suspicions of a possible horror-style killing. Akhilesh’s family has demanded a fair and transparent investigation. Bagaha Superintendent of Police Ramanand Kaushal stated that the full circumstances of the deaths will be clarified after postmortem and DNA reports are completed.
The case has left the local community stunned, raising concerns about the safety of young couples and the need for thorough investigation in missing-person cases.
