
Patna: A serious incident involving Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s convoy occurred on Friday in the Didarganj Bazar Samiti area of Patna, raising questions about the coordination and safety protocols of the CM’s security arrangements.
According to reports, a Scorpio vehicle from the Chief Minister’s convoy accidentally struck a senior Traffic DSP who was on duty at the site. The officer fell to the ground but did not sustain life-threatening injuries. The incident took place while CM Nitish Kumar was inspecting preparations for the Prakash Parv celebrations marking Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj’s birth anniversary. The inspection included a visit to a recently constructed watchtower in Patna city.
How the Incident Unfolded
Officials stated that the Scorpio vehicle was reversing when it collided with the DSP, who was standing behind it. The impact caused the officer to lose balance and fall. Immediate action by nearby police personnel prevented the situation from escalating further. Eyewitnesses said the prompt response ensured that a more serious accident was avoided.

While the injured DSP did not suffer critical injuries, the incident has drawn attention to the coordination and safety protocols of the Chief Minister’s convoy. Questions have been raised about whether any internal review of the convoy’s security procedures will be conducted.
