Bihar Budget 2026-27: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Aims to Empower Women and Youth

Patna, Bihar: The Bihar NDA government presented the state’s budget for the financial year 2026-27 on Tuesday. Finance Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav proposed a total budget of ₹3,47,589 crore. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed confidence that the budget would significantly advance his government’s “Saat Nishchay-3” (Seven Resolves-3) initiatives, focusing on skill development for youth and empowerment of women.

Boosting Economic Growth
Commenting on the budget, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said it aims to provide opportunities to every family, enhance youth skills, and empower women. The budget also allocates special provisions to strengthen education, healthcare, and agriculture, further accelerating the state’s economic growth.

A Budget Reflecting Aspirations of Biharis
Nitish Kumar described the budget as one that reflects the aspirations of Bihar’s residents, laying out a clear blueprint for the state’s overall development and ensuring respect for every Bihari. He highlighted that higher education in Bihar has made notable progress over the past five years, with enrollment rates in institutions increasing by more than 5%, indicating growing public trust in education.

Fulfilling the Vision of a Developed Bihar
The Chief Minister emphasized that the 2026-27 budget fulfills the vision of a developed Bihar. Designed on the principles of equitable growth, it considers all sectors and communities, including farmers, entrepreneurs, youth, and women. He described it as a comprehensive, inclusive, and development-oriented budget aimed at fostering sustainable progress across the state.
