
Samastipur, Bihar: In a shocking incident from Samastipur district, BJP leader Rupak Sahani was shot dead in Shadipurghat under Khanpur police station jurisdiction. Initial reports indicate that the killing stemmed from a longstanding dispute between two rival factions. Following the incident, the police have arrested two accused while a manhunt is underway for the remaining perpetrators.
SP Visits Scene, SHO Suspended
Samastipur SP Arvind Pratap Singh reached the site immediately after receiving the news and assessed the situation on the ground. In view of apparent lapses by the local police, SP Singh ordered the immediate suspension of Khanpur SHO Ranjit Kumar Chaudhary. The SP made it clear that any negligence in controlling crime will not be tolerated.
Killing Linked to Old Rivalry
Preliminary investigations reveal that Rupak Sahani had a long-standing conflict with members of the opposing faction. Earlier FIRs had already been lodged in connection with the dispute. On Wednesday, the feud escalated violently, and the assailants shot Sahani, who died instantly at the scene.
Two Arrested, Search Continues
The police acted swiftly, arresting two named suspects, who are being interrogated to uncover the full conspiracy and identify any other accomplices. A manhunt has been intensified to apprehend the remaining fugitives.
Three Special Teams Formed, Police Deployed in Village
Following SP Singh’s directives, three special teams have been formed to conduct raids at suspected hideouts. Additional police personnel have been deployed in the village to maintain law and order. Officials claim that the situation is currently under control, though tensions remain high.
