Patna: In a major step towards strengthening digital land services in Bihar, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha** announced that the state government has carried out a comprehensive technical upgrade of the Bihar Bhoomi Portal, aimed at ensuring faster, safer and error-free services for citizens.
The Deputy CM stated that the government is committed to providing all land-related services in an online and transparent manner. He said the recent scheduled server maintenance work marks an important move towards making digital land administration more secure, accountable and citizen-friendly.
Eight-Hour Maintenance to Boost Speed and Data Security
The maintenance work was conducted on Sunday, a public holiday, and continued for nearly eight hours. The primary objective of the operation was to enhance the portal’s technical capacity, improve server performance and strengthen the data security system.
Officials confirmed that the process included server upgradation, system optimisation, backend improvements and strengthening of security protocols, ensuring smoother access for users in the coming days.
Standardisation of Land Area and Record Updates
Deputy CM Sinha explained that the upgradation also involved standardisation of land area measurement, including conversion of land units from hectare to acre and decimal, followed by technical verification.
He said the department has also undertaken a detailed process of record correction and updating to ensure accuracy in land documents.
Over 10 Lakh Land Records Identified for Correction
During the review, authorities identified 10,81,815 Jamabandi records where the area of individual plots was recorded but the total land holding was not mentioned.
After verification, the total area was calculated by summing the plot-wise measurements, and the records were updated accordingly.
Government Promises Further Improvements
Expressing gratitude to citizens for their cooperation during the maintenance period, the Deputy CM said the state is continuously working to strengthen digital infrastructure and make revenue administration more transparent and efficient.
He added that further technical reforms will be introduced in the future to ensure that land-related services remain faster, more reliable and free from errors.
