Big Relief for Homebuyers in Delhi: DDA Extends Deadline for Premium Housing Scheme 2026

New Delhi: In a major relief for people planning to buy a home in the national capital, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has extended the application deadline for its Premium Housing Scheme 2026. Responding to growing public demand, the DDA has now allowed interested applicants to register for the scheme until February 20, 2026.

The scheme offers a total of 582 flats across different locations in Delhi under multiple categories including HIG (High Income Group), MIG (Middle Income Group), LIG (Low Income Group), Janta Flats, EHS (Economically Weaker Housing Scheme), along with options for car and scooter garages.

Scheme Based on E-Auction

According to DDA officials, the allotment process under the Premium Housing Scheme 2026 will be conducted through an e-auction system, ensuring transparency and fair participation for all applicants.

The scheme was originally launched on January 6, 2026, but as the deadline approached, many applicants requested additional time to complete pending registration formalities and become eligible for the e-auction process.

New Registration and Submission Dates Announced

The DDA has clarified that online registration for participation must now be completed by 6:00 PM on February 20. However, applicants will be allowed to complete the final submission process until February 23, 2026.

Applicants will also be required to deposit the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) within the stipulated timeline in order to participate in the e-auction.

Opportunity for Aspiring Homeowners

With the extension of the deadline, the DDA has provided an important opportunity for thousands of aspiring homeowners in Delhi who were unable to complete the registration process on time.

The decision is expected to boost participation in the scheme and offer greater access to housing options across different income categories in the city.
