Big Relief for Haj Pilgrims: Smart Bands to Ensure Safety and Convenience, Haj Committee Rolls Out New System

Lucknow: Preparations for Haj 2026 are in full swing, with applications already submitted by pilgrims. This year, the Haj Committee of India has introduced a technologically advanced system to enhance the safety and convenience of Indian pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia.

As part of the new arrangement, every pilgrim will be provided a special smart band, which must be worn throughout the journey. The band will cost ₹5,000 per pilgrim and is designed to ensure safety, health monitoring, and real-time assistance during the pilgrimage.

Advanced Features of the Smart Band
The smart band comes equipped with multiple state-of-the-art functionalities:

  • Calling facility and SOS emergency button
  • Real-time location tracking
  • Qibla compass for accurate prayer direction
  • Alerts for Namaz timings
  • Health monitoring, including heart rate, oxygen levels, and pedometer readings

Tailored for Elderly and Non-Tech-Savvy Pilgrims
The smart band is especially beneficial for elderly pilgrims and those who may struggle with smartphone apps. During Haj, heavy crowds in Mecca and Medina often cause pilgrims to get separated from their groups or face difficulties in emergency situations. The band ensures immediate connectivity with support teams.

Integration with Haj Facility App
The smart band will be linked with the Haj Facility App, enabling monitoring from the Indian Consulate control room in Jeddah. In case of an emergency, pressing the SOS button will immediately alert the control room, which can dispatch assistance promptly to the pilgrim’s location.

With this innovative initiative, the Haj Committee aims to make the 2026 pilgrimage safer, more organized, and technologically advanced, providing peace of mind to thousands of Indian pilgrims.
