Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: Two 9th-grade students from a government residential school in Bhopal, missing for almost a week, have been safely located in Ujjain with the help of police cyber monitoring. Both students, aged 16, hail from farming families in Berasia and have been studying at the Ratibad residential school since 6th grade.
Runaway Following School Reprimand
According to police, on 12 December, the students were caught misbehaving inside the school premises. After being reprimanded and warned that their parents would be informed, the boys sneaked out of the hostel around 1 AM while other students were asleep. The school administration filed a missing report on 13 December.
Journey to Ujjain
After leaving the school, the students traveled through several areas, reaching Sehore Road and eventually boarding a bus to Ujjain. In Ujjain, they purchased a new mobile phone and reactivated their social media accounts. Logging in to these accounts allowed the police to trace their location.
Safe Recovery
Using this technical information, Ratibad police coordinated with Ujjain police and successfully located the students around 9 PM on Friday. Police confirmed that both students are safe and further action is underway.
Police officer R.B. Sharma noted, “The breakthrough in locating the students came when they bought a new mobile phone and logged into social media accounts, helping us pinpoint their location.”
