Bhopal Sub-Inspector Revives Youth with CPR, Saves Life in Just 45 Seconds

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: A remarkable act of courage and quick thinking by a police officer has saved the life of a young man in Bhopal. Sub-Inspector Vivek Sharma, posted at Hanuman Ganj police station, revived a man who collapsed immediately after getting off a battery-operated rickshaw near Nadra Bus Stand.

The Incident

While managing traffic and public safety at the bus stand on Monday, Sub-Inspector Sharma noticed a young man suddenly losing consciousness and falling onto the road. The youth’s friend panicked, fearing the worst. The man was later identified as Gulab Singh from Ludhiana-Jalandhar, Punjab.

Life Restored with CPR

Seeing that the young man had stopped breathing and showed no movement, Sharma realized that any delay could prove fatal. Without hesitation, he immediately began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the road. After approximately 30 to 45 seconds of continuous chest compressions, Gulab Singh regained a pulse and took a deep breath, marking a miraculous revival.

Swift Medical Attention

Once conscious, Sharma splashed water on Gulab Singh’s face and immediately arranged his transfer to Hamidia Hospital. Thanks to the officer’s prompt action and presence of mind, the young man’s life was saved. Hospital reports later confirmed that Gulab Singh is now in stable condition.

The incident has earned wide appreciation for Sub-Inspector Sharma and the Bhopal police, highlighting their dedication not only to duty but also to humanity and quick intervention in life-threatening situations.
