Bhopal Robbers Target VIP: Deputy CM’s PA Mobile Snatched in Broad Daylight

Bhopal, MP: The boldness of robbers in Bhopal appears to be escalating, now targeting even VIPs. On Tuesday evening, three unidentified bike-borne thieves snatched the mobile phone of Sudhir Kumar Dubey, Personal Assistant to Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, while he was on an evening walk near JP Hospital. The culprits fled the scene immediately.

Incident Details
The incident occurred between 8:30 and 9:00 PM when Dubey, 51, a resident of Tulsi Nagar, was strolling near a medical store in front of JP Hospital. Before he could react, the thieves seized his mobile and sped away. Dubey raised an alarm and rushed to the police station to lodge a complaint.

CCTV Footage Proves Inconclusive
The TT Nagar police, led by SHO Gaurav Singh, launched a search immediately after receiving the complaint. However, the robbers remained elusive. Investigators noted that the stolen phone had been switched off, with its last location traced to Karond, Nishatpura. Nearby CCTV footage was reviewed on Wednesday, but poor visibility in the dark prevented clear identification of the suspects.

VIPs Not Immune
This is not the first time Bhopal thieves have targeted VIPs. Previously, a theft was reported at the residence of the Deputy Collector, and on 24 September, IG Intelligence Dr. Ashish (IPS) also had his mobile snatched. The recent incident raises concerns about the safety of even government officials in the city.

Police are continuing their efforts to apprehend the culprits and have urged citizens to remain vigilant.
