Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, February 24, 2026: In a disturbing case from the state capital, Bhopal Police have exposed a criminal network led by two sisters, Aamrin and Aafrin, who allegedly lured Hindu women under the pretext of jobs, forced them to wear burqas, coerced them into converting to Islam, and presented them to male associates. Three people have been arrested so far, with investigations ongoing.
Modus Operandi of the Network
According to police, the sisters, along with their associates, promised employment to women and then subjected them to sexual exploitation. Victims were reportedly taken to locations in Mumbai and Ahmedabad where they were abused in the presence of the sisters’ male companions. Threats were also made to defame the women using photographs and videos.
The accused allegedly forced victims to wear burqas and pressured them for religious conversion, compelling them to adopt Islam.
Arrests and Investigation
Police have registered cases of rape and religious coercion against six individuals, including Aamrin (alias Mahira), Aafrin, and Chandan Yadav. The other accused, Bilal, Chanu, and Yasir, remain at large. Police teams are conducting raids in Ahmedabad to trace the remaining suspects. The arrested suspects will be presented in court for remand and questioning.
Mastermind of the Network
Authorities have identified Aamrin Khan as the mastermind of the network. The first victim came into contact with Aamrin while working as a caretaker for her child. Once under her control, the victim was allegedly exploited and introduced to a cycle of abuse that reportedly ensnared multiple other young women. Investigators are working to identify the full extent of the network’s activities.
Victim’s Statement
The primary victim, a widow from Chhattisgarh with two children, stated:
“I met Aamrin at Ashima Mall, where she offered me ₹10,000 per month to take care of a child. I was later taken to her home in Ashoka Garden and then to Sagar Royal Villa, where her boyfriend Chandan Yadav assaulted me. I was also taken to Ahmedabad and abused there. They pressured me to convert to Islam and wear a burqa, constantly threatening to defame me.”
Victims were reportedly also made to wear revealing clothes and taken to parties where sexual exploitation occurred.
Police Statement
The Bagsevania police station in-charge confirmed the arrests and said that the investigation is ongoing. Teams will also be deployed in Ahmedabad to apprehend remaining suspects. Authorities are probing the full network, including potential connections with relatives who may have assisted in coercing victims.
This case has sent shockwaves across Bhopal, highlighting the need for vigilance against organized exploitation networks targeting vulnerable women.
