Bhilwara Police Nab ‘Folding Crowbar’ Thief; Wanted for 27 Crimes

Bhilwara: In a major breakthrough, Bhilwara police have arrested a cunning thief, Pawan Meena, who was wanted in over 27 cases of theft across Rajasthan. The accused had recently stolen ₹2.45 lakh from Heera Traders in the city’s Market No. 2. Authorities recovered a unique tool from him—a folding crowbar, which he could easily conceal in his bag.

Ingenious Theft Method
Pawan Meena, a resident of Baran, had perfected a high-tech method for committing thefts that had previously eluded law enforcement. The folding crowbar, recovered from him, splits into three parts and can be discreetly hidden in a bag. When unfolded, it resembles a regular carpenter’s tool, allowing him to manipulate shutters and locks without raising suspicion.

CCTV and RajCop App Crack the Case
Police scanned over 1,100 CCTV footage around the incident site. Once Meena’s face was clearly captured, authorities used the RajCop app for facial recognition, which confirmed his identity. The ICJS portal revealed that he was involved in more than 27 criminal activities ranging from looting women at railway stations to shop burglaries.

Meena was later apprehended near Bhilwara railway station during surveillance. Police are currently interrogating him regarding the stolen money and his criminal network.
