In a tragic incident in Durg, Chhattisgarh, 36-year-old graphics designer Bhoj Narayan reportedly committed suicide by hanging at his residence. Before taking his life, Narayan posted a detailed note on Facebook and shared a Google Drive link, alleging that his wife had used “black magic” to separate him from his extramarital partner. He also claimed to have been a victim of domestic violence.
The Man Behind the Tragedy
Bhoj Narayan, a senior graphics designer at Rungta College and originally from Rajim, Gariaband, lived in a rented house in Bhilai with his family, including his daughter. He was married but involved in a relationship with another married woman. His wife was reportedly aware of the affair and opposed it. Recent financial stress added to Narayan’s anxiety, and he had gone missing days before the incident, prompting his wife to file a missing person report. Investigations revealed his ongoing extramarital relationship.
Facebook Note Accuses Wife
On January 28, Narayan’s body was found hanging at his home. Police sent the body for postmortem before returning it to the family for cremation. In his Facebook note, Narayan held his wife responsible for his death, stating that his actions were prompted by her interference and alleged use of black magic to separate him from his girlfriend. He emphasized that his family bore no blame.
Concerns About Girlfriend’s Wellbeing
Narayan also expressed worry about his girlfriend’s health, claiming she was being confined and manipulated by her in-laws, and pleaded for someone to rescue her. He wrote that he had tried to help her but was thwarted by his wife’s alleged black magic. Screenshots of conversations between his wife and another individual were shared in the note, which he said revealed her “true nature.”
Police Investigation Underway
Jamul police are examining the case based on Narayan’s Facebook posts, mobile data, and family statements. Authorities are investigating both the reasons behind his suicide and the validity of his allegations. No criminal charges have been filed as of now.
