Bhagalpur Election Result 2025 LIVE: Results from All Seven Assembly Seats

Bhagalpur, Bihar: The counting of votes for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections in Bhagalpur district is underway. The district has seven assembly constituencies—Bihpur, Gopalpur, Pirpainti, Kahalgaon, Bhagalpur, Sultanganj, and Nathnagar—each witnessing intense contests. The fate of sitting MLAs and aspiring candidates will be decided today, Friday, 14 November.

Bhagalpur Assembly: The Key Battleground

Bhagalpur constituency is considered the hottest seat in the district. In 2020, Congress MLA Ajit Sharma defeated BJP’s Rohit Pandey. This year, the contest is triangular, with Ajit Sharma (Congress), Rohit Pandey (BJP), and Abhay Kant Jha (Jan Suraj Party) fighting for the seat. Early trends show a close race between Sharma and Pandey, keeping voters and political observers on edge.

Bihpur Assembly: Triangular Contest

Bihpur has emerged as another high-stakes seat. Current BJP MLA Kumar Shailendra is in a tight contest with VIP’s Arpana Kumari and Jan Suraj Party’s Pawan Chaudhary. Initial indications suggest a marginal lead, highlighting the competitive nature of this constituency.

Gopalpur Assembly: Intense Competition

Voting is complete in Gopalpur, and counting has begun. The main contenders are Prem Shankar Yadav (VIP), Mankeshwar Singh (JSP), and Bulo Mandal (JD-U). This seat has historically witnessed fierce contests, and 69.19% voter turnout was recorded this year. In 2020, JD-U’s Narendra Kumar Neeraj had defeated RJD’s Shailesh Kumar by a margin of 24,461 votes.

Kahalgaon Assembly: Tight Fight

Kahalgaon saw a close contest between JD-U candidate Shubhanand Mukesh, RJD’s Rajneesh Bharti, and Congress’s Praveen Singh Kushwaha. Voter turnout here reached a record 72.83%, reflecting heightened political engagement.

Sultanganj Assembly: Three-Way Battle

Sultanganj continues to be a high-profile constituency. The main candidates are Chandan Sinha (RJD), Rakesh Kumar (JSP), and Lalit Narayan Mandal (JD-U). Counting is ongoing, and the race remains tightly contested.

Nathnagar Assembly: Fifteen Contestants

Nathnagar witnessed a large field of 15 candidates, including Mithun Kumar (LJP-Ramvilas), Sheikh Ziaul Hasan (RJD), and Ajay Kumar Roy (JSP). Counting is in progress, with the trend to be clear in the coming hours.

Pirpainti and Remaining Seats

Votes for Pirpainti and the remaining constituencies are also being tallied. Election authorities are conducting the process systematically across all polling stations, with live updates to be released periodically.

The Bhagalpur district elections, with its mix of triangular and multi-cornered contests, are among the most closely watched in Bihar, reflecting both historical trends and emerging voter dynamics.
