Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh: In a major crackdown on fraudulent teachers, Bhadohi police have arrested Shailendra Kumar, a teacher accused of securing his position using fake documents, and sent him to jail. Authorities have also terminated his employment and initiated recovery of the salary he received during his tenure.
The action comes amid a stringent directive from the Allahabad High Court, which ordered verification of appointments of all assistant teachers across the state within six months, following several cases of employment through fraudulent credentials. Shailendra Kumar, who served as an assistant teacher at Composite School, Kalik Mavai, had been under police surveillance for some time.
Police Operation and Arrest
On Wednesday, the Koirauna police received precise information from an informant about Shailendra Kumar’s presence in Katra Bazaar. A team led by Sub-Inspector Kashinath Yadav and Head Constable Vinay Kumar Yadav surrounded the area and apprehended him near a tea stall outside Jai Seth’s shop. The accused reportedly attempted to evade arrest, but the police team successfully took him into custody.
Fraud Case Details
An internal investigation was launched after the education department received complaints about Shailendra Kumar’s credentials. Verification by the District Basic Education Officer revealed that the degrees he had used to secure his teaching job were entirely fake. Upon confirmation, the Bhadohi BSA immediately terminated his service.

A case has been registered against Shailendra Kumar at Koirauna Police Station under criminal case number 199/2025. Charges include serious provisions of the Indian Penal Code, namely Sections 319(2), 318(4), 338, 336(3), and 340(2). The arrest was carried out under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik and Additional SP Shubham Agrawal as part of an ongoing operation targeting wanted individuals.
