Begusarai Double Murder Mystery: Who is Sunita, the Woman Accused in Both Husbands’ Deaths?

Begusarai, Bihar: In a sensational case from Begusarai, a farmer was shot dead in broad daylight, raising shock and fear in the community. The victim, identified as 45-year-old Bhushan Singh of Kaithma village, was attacked while collecting fodder for cattle near his fields on Monday evening. Police reports suggest the crime is linked to a single woman—his first wife, Sunita Devi, who is now allegedly married to Bhushan’s younger brother.

According to witnesses, assailants fired multiple rounds at Bhushan Singh, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Following the murder, Bhushan’s first wife reportedly went missing along with her children, heightening suspicions in the ongoing investigation.

A Troubling History
Bhushan Singh, the second among three brothers, had married Sunita Devi from West Bengal nearly 18 years ago. Within months, Sunita allegedly left Bhushan and married his younger brother, Raju Singh, with whom she had two children. In September 2024, Raju Singh was shot by unidentified assailants and later died during treatment. Bhushan’s family had accused Sunita Devi of orchestrating that attack, citing her alleged intent to claim the family property.

Double Murder Allegations
Authorities now suspect Sunita Devi of being involved in Bhushan Singh’s murder as well, allegedly to seize control over his newly built home and valuable land. With Bhushan having no children, Sunita, as his first wife, stood to claim his property, according to police sources. After the murder, Sunita reportedly fled the area with her two children.

The police, led by SP Manish and DSP Anand Kumar Pandey, arrived at the crime scene immediately and launched a detailed investigation, with FSL teams examining the evidence. Sunita Devi is currently at large, and authorities are pursuing leads to apprehend her.

This case has gripped the region, raising concerns about property disputes, family feuds, and the alleged involvement of a single woman in two high-profile murders.
