
Banka (Bihar): In a shocking incident in Srinathpur village of Banka district, the body of a married woman was found under suspicious circumstances on Monday evening. The woman, identified as Neetu Kumari (28), wife of Umesh Sah, had visible injuries around her neck, raising initial suspicions of strangulation.
Local residents first spotted the body in an open field and immediately informed the police. Upon arrival, the police cordoned off the area and began a preliminary investigation. The gruesome discovery sent waves of shock throughout the village, with several residents gathering at the scene.
Son Alleges Father’s Involvement
The investigation took a critical turn when the deceased’s son, Ashish Kumar, accused his father, Umesh Sah, of the murder. He alleged that frequent domestic disputes and violent incidents at home could have led to his mother’s death. Taking the statement seriously, police have launched a thorough probe into all possible angles of the case.
Police Investigation Underway
SDPO Indrajeet Satta, along with Baraahat Police Station In-Charge Mahesh Kumar and their team, reached the scene promptly to collect evidence. A specialized FSL team from Bhagalpur also arrived to gather crucial forensic samples. All potential evidence at the site is being meticulously examined.
Post-Mortem to Reveal Cause of Death
The body has been sent for a post-mortem early Tuesday morning. Police officials stated that the scientific examination and post-mortem report will determine the exact cause of death and shed light on the circumstances surrounding the incident. SDPO Indrajeet Satta emphasized that the investigation is being conducted from all angles, including questioning other family members, and assured that the matter would be resolved soon. At this stage, the police are treating it as a suspicious death while continuing a detailed inquiry.
