Bangladeshi Woman Arrested in Gwalior for Human Trafficking; Operated Prostitution Network for Over a Year

Gwalior: The Gwalior police have arrested a Bangladeshi woman involved in human trafficking and prostitution after she had been living in the city for over a year undetected. The suspect revealed that she entered India through rivers and hilly terrain and, along with a Bangladeshi associate, had been running a prostitution racket. Her accomplice is currently at large.

Operations from Residential and Commercial Locations:
The woman was residing in an apartment in Seva Nagar and working at two spa centers near Pardav and High Court areas. She hails from Fukur Basti, Mirpur, Dhaka. According to police sources, she was brought to Gwalior by a man named Dr. Tushar about 16 months ago and was accommodated in his residence. Gradually, she established her network by contacting other individuals involved in the illegal trade, including working at spa centers in Pardav and Inderganj.

Trafficking Routes:
The arrested woman disclosed that traffickers use rivers and hilly paths to smuggle people across the border. She was first transported to Kolkata before being brought to Gwalior and had also obtained fake Aadhaar and PAN cards.

Ongoing Investigations and Deportation:
Gwalior police have arrested a total of 10 Bangladeshi nationals in similar cases, including a family of eight and a young woman recently apprehended in Govindpuri and Maharajpura, Deendayal Nagar. All are currently held at the police detention center.

The arrested woman and others involved are scheduled to be handed over to the BSF and deported to Bangladesh on 15 November 2025. Police and security agencies are conducting further interrogations, and additional action will be taken upon collection of conclusive evidence.
