Bangalore Girl, 13, Leaves Home with Younger Brother After Parents Scold Her

Bangalore: A shocking incident emerged from Bangalore, Karnataka, where a 13-year-old girl left home with her younger brother after being scolded by their parents. Both children were later traced by the police and safely reunited with their family.

The Incident
The girl reportedly left home on Saturday after her parents reprimanded her for skipping tuition classes. The siblings went missing from the Ashwathnagar area near the HAL Police Station. According to a police officer, the children left home under the pretext of attending tuition, carrying a bag with some clothes and food. When they did not return by evening, a missing person report was filed on February 2.

Children Intended to Visit Their Grandmother
Police investigation revealed that the siblings wanted to visit their grandmother in Chitradurga but mistakenly boarded a bus to Shivamogga. The girl used her Aadhaar card under the state government’s Shakti scheme for free travel to purchase her ticket and took her younger brother along without a ticket, which went unnoticed by the conductor. This led to an unplanned journey across the state, passing through Shivamogga and Chitradurga districts.

Police Rescue
CCTV footage helped police track the children’s movements, showing them leaving their home with a bag, crossing Marathahalli Bridge Skywalk, and reaching Majestic Bus Terminal to board the bus. Authorities issued alerts at all Karnataka bus stations and circulated information on social media.

The breakthrough came when members of the public spotted the siblings about 290 kilometers away in Bhadravati. They recognized the children from shared messages and informed the police. The HAL Police coordinated with local authorities, located the children, and brought them safely back to Bangalore.

After counseling, the girl and her brother were reunited with their parents.
