Banda JE and Wife Sent Obscene Videos of 34 Children to 47 Countries, Interpol Investigation Reveals

Lucknow, February 21, 2026: A couple from Banda, Junior Engineer Ram Bhavan and his wife Durgavati, who were sentenced to death for crimes against children, reportedly produced and distributed obscene videos of 34 minors to 47 countries, including the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, and Bangladesh. The case came under the scrutiny of Interpol, which gathered crucial digital evidence and forwarded it to the CBI.

Interpol compiled data including phone numbers, emails, videos, and photos connected to the accused. A pen drive containing 34 videos and 679 images of children was sent to the CBI, which subsequently registered an FIR against the couple on October 31, 2020.

Storage of Abusive Material

Ram Bhavan stored the illicit videos and photos on Gmail and Google Photos, as well as on paid storage on the New Zealand-based platform Mega.nz, which allowed up to 500 GB storage for ₹10. Despite warnings from Google, he continued saving the material. Interpol obtained key evidence from these platforms.

Abuse Extended to Family and Others

Ram Bhavan even abused his sister’s son, who suffered prolonged illness and lasting damage. Additionally, while overseeing canal work in Hamirpur, he exploited six children of a worker. In Karvi, he also abused and recorded videos of his landlord’s children.

Testimonies from Victims

According to CBI Public Prosecutor Dhara Singh Meena, 29 out of 33 victimized children gave detailed testimony in court, narrating the entire sequence of abuse. Most victims came from impoverished backgrounds. Raids on Ram Bhavan’s residences uncovered a large quantity of sex toys, over 40 types of oils, more than two dozen mobile phones, laptops, and other obscene materials. A three-year-old child required hospitalization due to abuse. Investigations confirmed that Durgavati actively assisted her husband, and the couple also exploited two children employed as domestic help.
