
Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Balodabazar-Bhatapara district has emerged as the top performer in Chhattisgarh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) [PMAY-G] for the year 2025-26. The district’s proactive administration has ensured the highest number of approvals and initiated construction on a record number of houses.
Over 26,000 Houses Approved
During 2025-26, a total of 26,843 houses were approved in the district. Out of these, 24,313 beneficiaries have received the first installment of funds, construction work has commenced on 20,480 houses, and 15,120 houses have reached the plinth level—more than any other district in the state.
Fund Transfer and Construction Progress
Funds for 26,439 approved houses have been processed through the Financial and Technical Online (FTO) system, with 24,313 beneficiaries receiving their first installment. The completion of plinth-level work on 15,120 houses reflects the administration’s efficiency and the enthusiasm of the rural population. Under the PM Janman initiative, 25 eligible beneficiaries’ houses have been fully completed, achieving 100% completion.
Rainwater Harvesting Initiatives
Balodabazar-Bhatapara has also earned the second national award for water conservation efforts. As part of the PMAY-G scheme, 15,260 rainwater harvesting structures have been constructed in fully completed houses, enhancing sustainability and supporting local livelihoods. This milestone is helping thousands of families realize the dream of a permanent home while boosting rural development and employment opportunities.
