Balaghat: The Balaghat Police have arrested a man for posting content on social media praising the dreaded Naxal leader Madvi Hidma as a ‘martyr’. The accused, Satyendra Inwati, has been sent to jail for his actions, which hurt the sentiments of the families of security personnel martyred in anti-Naxal operations.
Details of the Case
Satyendra Inwati, a resident of Manjhara in Bharveli, reportedly posted on WhatsApp and a Facebook page named ‘Birsa Brigade Bharat’ on the night of 20th November, referring to Hidma as a “martyr” and glorifying him with terms like “Lion of Bastar,” “Mastermind Martyr,” and “Lal Salaam.”
Complaint Filed
Following the post, a complaint was lodged on 26th November by Akhilesh Mandlekar and other citizens at Bharveli police station. The complainants highlighted that Hidma was responsible for numerous Naxal attacks targeting innocent civilians and security forces, leading to over 100 deaths. Praising such a figure sends the wrong message and deeply hurts the families of martyred personnel.
Investigation by Cyber Cell
The Cyber Cell, in coordination with Bharveli Police, conducted a detailed investigation. Technical evidence confirmed that the controversial post originated from Satyendra Inwati’s account. Subsequently, a case was registered against him under Section 196(1) of the Indian Penal Code, and he was taken into custody.
About Madvi Hidma
