Bail Granted to Accused in Notorious Gangster Papla Gurjar’s Jailbreak Case

Alwar, Rajasthan: The Rajasthan High Court has granted bail to Rajveer Gurjar, who was accused of freeing notorious gangster Vikram alias Papla Gurjar from Bahadurgarh police custody. Justice Pramil Kumar Mathur, in a single-judge bench hearing, approved Rajveer’s bail petition and ordered his release on a ₹50,000 personal bond. Rajveer Gurjar hails from Kherauli village in Mahendragarh district, Haryana.

Advocate Kuldeep Yadav, representing Rajveer, stated that he had been arrested for allegedly helping Vikram “Papla” Gurjar escape police custody. During the arrest, police reportedly recovered an AK-47 rifle and seven live cartridges from him. The court, considering the facts of the case, the progress of the investigation, and the bail granted to co-accused, granted relief to Rajveer.

Case Background
On the night of September 6, 2019, Bahadurgarh police seized ₹32 lakh in cash from a Scorpio vehicle and arrested a young man later identified as Vikram “Papla” Gurjar. His accomplices, armed, managed to flee the scene. The next day, Rajveer Gurjar, along with his associates, allegedly opened fire on the police station with an AK-47 and freed Papla from the lockup.

Papla was subsequently apprehended in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, in January 2021. Investigations revealed Rajveer as the mastermind behind the jailbreak. He was arrested from Dharuheda in May 2025, during which an AK-56 rifle and live ammunition were recovered from him.
