Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh: Three Home Guard personnel assigned to the security of SDM Alok Prasad in Mahsi tehsil had lodged serious allegations against him, claiming that he used casteist slurs, physically harassed them, and threatened their lives. The complainants—Rajaram Shukla, Ramakant Mishra, and Ram Kumar Tiwari—submitted written complaints to their senior officials, demanding strict action against the SDM.
However, an official investigation ordered by DM Akshay Tripathi has found the allegations to be baseless. Authorities stated that the complainants failed to provide any concrete evidence or factual support for their claims.
The Home Guards had alleged that the SDM verbally abused a differently-abled person during duty hours and forced the complainants to perform physical exercises, even asking for photographs of the act. They also claimed that they were threatened and removed from the duty site. Additionally, the complainants raised concerns about arbitrary duty assignments, claiming they were made to work 24 to 48 hours continuously.
During the investigation, statements were recorded from the differently-abled individual, tehsil staff, and the complainants themselves. SDM Alok Prasad categorically denied all allegations, stating that the differently-abled complainant had struggled while entering his chamber and that he had only admonished the Home Guards for lacking empathy.
Earlier, one of the complainants, Ramakant Mishra, had claimed that if no action was taken against the SDM, they might be forced to take extreme steps. The investigation has now cleared the SDM of all charges, confirming that the allegations were entirely false.
