Badwani Collector Seen Sitting on the Floor with BLOs in Hut, Viral Photo Wins Praise on Social Media

Badwani, Madhya Pradesh: During the intensive monitoring of the special voter list revision program, Badwani District Collector and District Election Officer, Jayati Singh, was spotted in a display of simplicity and dedication that has won widespread appreciation on social media. A photo circulating online shows her sitting on the floor of a makeshift hut-like shop, reviewing documents alongside a Booth Level Officer (BLO).

Collector Singh, known for her proactive approach, has been personally inspecting both urban and rural areas under Assembly Constituency No. 190 (Badwani) to ensure the voter list revision progresses efficiently. During her visits, she conducted house-to-house surveys, physical verification, document collection, and assessed the digitization process while interacting closely with BLOs.

Voter List Purification: A Matter of National Importance

Emphasizing the significance of the exercise, Singh instructed officers and BLOs to expedite the revision process and complete it within the stipulated timeframe. She highlighted that maintaining an accurate and updated voter list is a matter of national importance and must be carried out with utmost integrity and seriousness to ensure fair upcoming elections.

Social Media Applauds Simplicity and Dedication

The photo of the Collector sitting on the floor to inspect documents garnered widespread praise. Social media users lauded her humility and commitment, with one commenting, “Seeing you work alongside BLOs like this surely inspires every employee under your leadership. You are guiding the administration in a new direction.” Some citizens also used the platform to request corrections in the voter list, appealing directly to the Collector through social media.

Stool Inspections and Notices to BLOs

In one village, Singh was seen reviewing documents while seated on a small wooden stool in front of a tiny shop. Her hands-on approach is expected to give new momentum to the voter list revision work across the district. During her inspections, six BLOs were issued notices for lapses, emphasizing accountability and adherence to deadlines.

Digitization Progress Reviewed via VC

In a video conference review, the Collector evaluated the digitization status of voter record forms and assessed the performance pace of BLOs. Based on the review, six BLOs were issued “Show Cause” notices for negligence, under the Collector’s direct orders, reinforcing strict monitoring and administrative discipline.

Collector Jayati Singh’s approach has set an example of dedication, humility, and proactive leadership, motivating both officers and citizens to actively participate in the voter list revision process.
