
Badaun, UP: A tragic incident overshadowed the wedding festivities in Badaun when a man, Akash (28), committed suicide during his sister-in-law’s wedding. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday in a forested area near the village of Utarna, under Moosajhag Police Station. Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the suicide.
Incident Details
Akash, a resident of Jaitipur village, Shahjahanpur, had arrived at his in-laws’ home in Badaun several days prior, along with his family and children, to attend the wedding of his sister-in-law, Neeraj, daughter of Kunwarpal. On the night of 20 February, during the Jaimala ceremony, Akash was reportedly seen consuming alcohol. Shortly afterward, he went missing, prompting family members to search for him.
A local passerby later discovered his body hanging from a mango tree in a nearby jungle. Police reached the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for postmortem. The incident turned the wedding celebrations into mourning, leaving family members and relatives in shock.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are currently probing all aspects of the case to determine why Akash took this extreme step. No official explanation has yet been confirmed. Police are examining every angle, including potential personal or familial reasons behind the tragedy.

The sudden death has sent shockwaves through both Akash’s family and the bride’s household. Guests and relatives who were celebrating the wedding were left in distress as the joyful occasion turned into a scene of grief.
