During her visit, Dr. Fatima revealed that Khan is suffering from high fever and a persistent cough. Rampur is currently experiencing severe cold, with temperatures dropping to a minimum of 3°C and a maximum of 16°C. Dr. Fatima expressed serious concern over his condition, suggesting that inadequate facilities in the jail may be exacerbating his illness.
Permission from Jail Authorities
Dr. Fatima had submitted a formal request to the jail administration on Thursday morning to meet Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam. Following the approval, she met him and reportedly observed that his health had deteriorated. Khan’s condition has left his family deeply worried.
Concerns Over Jail Facilities
Dr. Fatima criticized the jail administration for failing to provide essential facilities considering Khan’s age and medical condition. She alleged that despite extreme cold, he is forced to sleep on the floor due to jail regulations, a factor she believes has aggravated his illness.
While she acknowledged that the jail authorities have provided initial medication, Dr. Fatima urged the administration to take Khan’s health seriously and ensure proper medical treatment and necessary facilities. Khan’s elder son, Adeeb Azam Khan, was also present during the visit.
