Ayodhya Ram Mandir: CBRI Roorkee to Conduct ‘Surya Tilak’, Hutatma Memorial to Be Completed by April 30

Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: The grand ‘Surya Tilak’ ceremony at Shri Ram Lalla’s head during Ram Navami in Ayodhya will now be conducted annually by the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee. The Ram Mandir Trust is set to sign a 10-year contract with CBRI to ensure technical precision in this historic ritual.

This was announced by Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee, after a two-day meeting. He stated that the institute that developed the Surya Tilak technology will now operate it, ensuring flawless execution for years to come.

15 Other Temples to Open After March 19

Mr. Mishra further informed that 15 other temples within the Ram Mandir complex will open for public darshan after a special program on March 19. A maximum of 1,000 devotees will be allowed at a time, with entry strictly via a pass system for security reasons.

President Droupadi Murmu to Attend Special Ceremony

During the New Year celebrations, President Droupadi Murmu will spend approximately four hours at the temple complex. She is expected to install the Ram Raksha Yantra in the sanctum sanctorum on the second floor and may honor nearly 400 workers and technical staff who contributed to the temple’s construction.

International Ram Katha Museum to Open in September

The International Ram Katha Museum under construction in the temple complex is targeted for completion by September. The museum will feature 20 galleries, including a special Hanuman gallery, developed by the IIT Madras team. The gallery will present a 12-minute 3D experience on Hanuman Ji, with limited entry on a ticket basis, while other galleries will remain free for visitors.

Remaining Construction to Finish by April 30

According to Mr. Mishra, the construction of the main temples is complete. Focus now is on finishing the international museum, temporary temples, and Hutatma memorial pillars, all scheduled for completion by April 30. Additionally, discussions are ongoing with Arvindo Ashram regarding extra land for boundary wall construction while maintaining existing sewer lines and structures.

Surya Tilak Tradition to Continue

The scientific arrangement for marking Surya Tilak on Shri Ram Lalla’s head will now be given a permanent setup. CBRI will manage the operation for the next 10 years, ensuring that future ceremonies remain technically flawless.
