Ayodhya Braces for Cold Wave: Ram Lalla Bathed with Lukewarm Water, Heater Installed in Sanctum

As severe winter grips Ayodhya, special arrangements have been made at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple to protect Lord Ram Lalla from the biting cold. In view of the falling temperatures during mornings and evenings, the deity is now being bathed with lukewarm water, while heaters have been installed inside the sanctum sanctorum.

According to temple priests, Ram Lalla is also covered with a quilt at night to ensure warmth. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has instructed priests and temple staff to take additional precautions so that seasonal changes do not affect the daily rituals and divine service.

Seasonal Changes in Offerings (Bhog)

Along with changes in ritual practices, the bhog (sacred offerings) has also been modified according to the winter season. Along with traditional puri and vegetables, Ram Lalla is being offered saffron-infused milk, halwa prepared in pure desi ghee, and nutritious dry fruits such as almonds, cashews, pistachios, and raisins.

Temple authorities stated that these offerings are selected to suit the season and are part of age-old traditions followed during winter.

Extra Care Across Ayodhya Temples

Similar arrangements have been made at other prominent temples in Ayodhya. At Shri Ram Vallabhakunja, warmth is being provided using a traditional brazier along with warm air blowers. Meanwhile, at Hanuman Garhi, Lord Hanuman is also being covered with a quilt.

Priest Ramesh Das informed that Lord Hanuman is being offered rabri, puri, kheer, and desi ghee halwa as part of the winter bhog.

Devotion Meets Tradition

Temple officials emphasized that such seasonal arrangements reflect the deep-rooted traditions and devotional care practiced in Ayodhya, ensuring that rituals continue seamlessly despite harsh weather conditions.
