Four Decades in Teaching
Sushma Moghe served as a teacher for 40 years at a Central School in Chirimiri, Chhattisgarh. She holds an MSc in Chemistry from Jiwaji University. After retiring in 2000, she moved to Indore and became actively involved in libraries and reading groups.
Inspired to Pursue MA at 75
About three years ago, Sushma came across an advertisement for MA in Marathi in an online literature group. The course was open to learners of all ages. Initially, she encouraged her 44-year-old daughter Nandini to enroll, but when her daughter declined, Sushma decided to pursue the course herself.
Proving Age Is Just a Number
Sushma told the Times of India, “I decided to study this course myself and complete what I always wanted to learn.” Her determination, discipline, and passion culminated in her topping the MA program and winning the gold medal, proving that there is no limit to learning at any age.
Her achievement stands as an inspiring example for lifelong learners across India, showing that dedication and curiosity can triumph over age barriers.
