Ashoknagar, MP: In a display of simplicity and dedication, Ashoknagar Collector Saket Malviya personally visited the fields on Friday to assess the damage caused by unseasonal rainfall and hailstorms. The visit left local farmers and officials impressed by his hands-on approach.
Following heavy rain and hail in the Mungawali region two days earlier, multiple villages suffered crop losses. Collector Malviya reached Oder village in Bahadurpur to inspect the affected fields. Rather than staying on the roadside, he walked directly into the fields, even crossing a canal on a narrow wooden plank to reach the farmland. When accompanying officials stepped forward to support him, the collector reassured them, saying, “Don’t worry, it’s fine—just leave it.”
During the inspection, he instructed officials to conduct a detailed survey of the damaged crops, ensure accurate assessment of losses, and expedite the release of relief funds to affected farmers.
The collector’s approachable and modest demeanor drew admiration from locals, highlighting his commitment to understanding ground realities firsthand rather than relying solely on reports.
