Amroha: In a shocking daylight incident, a court clerk was brutally murdered in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, after a road rage altercation. The attack took place in front of the victim’s wife and children, leaving the local community in shock. Police have launched an investigation into the case.
The victim, Rashid Hussain, a clerk at the Amroha District Court, was traveling with his wife Rukhsar, nephew Salman, and three children to a relative’s home in Patti village, Muradabad district, around 2 PM on Sunday. Near the canal bridge on the Bambugarh-Zoya bypass, Rashid’s car was lightly hit by a bike coming from the opposite direction. The bike was ridden by Nafees of Hussainpur village, along with his two sons, Adyaan (14) and Arhaan (8).
The minor collision led to an argument between Rashid and the bikers, which was initially defused by local residents. Rashid then drove ahead, but the bikers’ elder son, Shan, called additional youths—Kaleem, Naseem, Qaseem, and others—to confront him. The group pursued Rashid’s car for several kilometers and eventually cornered him at the Sambhal Chowraha in Didoli.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailants surrounded Rashid’s car, dragged him out, and began assaulting him with kicks and punches. Despite pleas from his wife, nephew, and children, the attackers did not stop. Rashid succumbed to the brutal assault on the spot, and the assailants fled the scene.
Rashid’s body was taken to his in-laws’ residence in Iqbal Nagar-II, Zoya, where relatives, lawyers, and court clerks gathered. Following intense protests demanding the arrest of the attackers, a case was finally registered based on a complaint filed by Rashid’s nephew, Salman.
City Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav confirmed that four named individuals—Kaleem son of Rais, Shan son of Nafees, and Kaleem and Naseem sons of Mujahid—along with a few unidentified persons, have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including murder. Shan and one other accused have been taken into custody for questioning, while the search for the remaining suspects is ongoing.
The brutal murder has left the community shaken and raised serious concerns about road rage-related violence.
