Alto Car Overturns on Purvanchal Expressway, 4 Injured Including Two Ghaziabad Sub-Inspectors

Sultanpur: A serious road accident occurred on the Purvanchal Expressway in Sultanpur on Saturday morning around 10 AM, leaving four people injured, including two sub-inspectors from Ghaziabad. The Alto car, carrying the officers and a rape accused from Bihar, overturned near Mile 97. All injured were rushed to Pithla Hospital and later, the rape accused and the driver were referred to Ayodhya Medical College in critical condition.

Incident Details
According to reports, the accused, Vishwakant, a resident of Dehri in Bihar’s Rohtas police station area, had a pending rape case against him. Sub-Inspectors Atul Kumar and Vipin Kumar had traveled to Bihar to arrest him. They were returning to Ghaziabad via the Purvanchal Expressway, with the accused in custody, when the car, driven by Wasim, lost control near Mile 97. The vehicle collided with the road divider and overturned multiple times.

Emergency Response
PRV team 6105, led by Sunil Kumar Singh and Vansh Kumar, and the UPEDA team arrived at the scene immediately. The injured were extracted from the vehicle and transported by ambulance to Pithla Hospital in Kumarganj. Due to the critical condition of the accused and the driver, doctors referred them to Ayodhya Medical College for further treatment.

Police Statement
Station Officer Baldi Rai Narad Muni Singh confirmed that a detailed investigation into the accident is underway. The sub-inspectors, driver, and the accused are under medical supervision, while authorities are reviewing the circumstances that led to the loss of control.
