Aligarh Woman Alleges Sexual Assault, Blackmail, and Forced Religious Conversion

A woman in Aligarh has filed a serious complaint alleging that a man, who concealed his identity, sexually assaulted her, blackmailed her with obscene videos, and forced her into religious conversion. The victim, a single mother raising her seven-year-old son after a divorce, approached the SSP Aligarh’s office seeking justice.

According to the complaint, the victim met a man who introduced himself as Rakesh, claiming to be a contractor at a meat factory in Alka Park, where he was helping her secure employment. The victim alleged that he befriended her under the pretext of assistance and later took her to a friend’s room, where he laced her drink with a sedative and committed sexual assault while recording obscene videos.

The woman stated that the man later revealed his real identity as Firoz, a Muslim, and threatened to circulate the videos if she refused to comply. Over the next three years, she alleges, he exploited her sexually and pressured her into marriage and religious conversion. With the help of a cleric, she claims her religion was changed, her name was altered to Alia, and she was forced to perform prayers and observe fasts.

The victim also alleged that Firoz is already married and had conducted a parallel marriage with her. She claims he is now threatening her and her child with death for resisting his demands.

Following her complaint, SSP Aligarh Neeraj Jadoon directed the Rohravar police station to investigate the matter thoroughly and take necessary legal action against the accused.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the progress of the investigation, but the case has raised serious concerns regarding women’s safety, fraudulent identities, and forced religious conversions in the district.
