
Aligarh: Chaos erupted on the Yamuna Expressway in Aligarh district, Uttar Pradesh, when toll plaza employees allegedly attacked a private bus driver and the passengers onboard. The incident took place at the Jewar Toll Plaza, creating panic among travelers and bystanders.
According to reports, a private bus (registration CH02 AA0557) was traveling from Delhi Loni with devotees en route to Balaji Darshan. Around 12:30 AM on Wednesday, a verbal dispute broke out between the bus driver and toll plaza staff regarding toll payment. The disagreement escalated rapidly, and multiple toll workers reportedly assaulted the driver and passengers using kicks, punches, and sticks.
Passengers Injured, Chaos Ensues
The sudden attack caused a commotion at the toll plaza, attracting attention from other vehicle drivers. Highway Patrolling Police arrived promptly at the scene and intervened to restore order. While one devotee sustained minor injuries during the incident, no formal complaint was filed at the time, and the bus continued its journey without further police action.
The incident raises concerns about safety and conduct at toll plazas along the expressway, highlighting the need for stricter monitoring and accountability of toll staff.
