Lucknow: A video circulating rapidly on social media shows Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav making an urgent phone call while traveling on the Purvanchal Expressway. The video, shared widely by SP supporters, claims that Yadav halted his convoy to extend immediate assistance to a farmer’s family affected by a road accident, providing ₹2 lakh in financial aid and coordinating further government support through the District Magistrate (DM).
Akhilesh Yadav was en route from Lucknow to Mau to attend the thirteenth-day ceremony (terahvi) of former SP MLA Sudhakar Singh. On the way, near Ghosi, he came across a family sitting by the roadside in distress. The farmer had tragically lost his wife in a road accident and was demanding financial assistance.
The SP leader immediately stopped his convoy, spoke directly to the grieving farmer to understand the family’s plight, and provided ₹2 lakh in aid on behalf of the Samajwadi Party. He then contacted the DM, clarifying that his concern was not about traffic congestion but about arranging compensation and insurance benefits for the deceased farmer’s family. The DM assured Yadav that the government would expedite the assistance, following which the convoy resumed its journey.
This gesture highlights Akhilesh Yadav’s hands-on approach in responding to citizen distress, combining personal initiative with official channels to ensure timely relief.
