Akhilesh Yadav Attends Umar Ansari’s Walima, Congratulates Newlyweds and Cuts Cake

Delhi: Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav personally congratulated Umar Ansari, son of Mukhtar Ansari, and his wife Fatima on their marriage in Delhi. The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also joined the couple in cutting the wedding cake, with photographs of the occasion shared on his official social media accounts.

Event Highlights

The meeting took place on Tuesday, where Akhilesh Yadav visited the Ansari family to bless the newlyweds. Although he could not attend Umar Ansari’s reception held on November 17 in Delhi due to prior engagements in Bangalore, he made it a point to meet the couple in person this week.

The Walima ceremony was attended by several prominent family members, including Abbas Ansari, Umar’s elder brother, along with his wife Nikhat Ansari. Also present were Afzal Ansari, Sigbatullah Ansari, and Suheb Ansari, among other family members.

Prominent Guests at the Reception

The reception on November 17 had drawn several high-profile attendees, including former Vice President Hamid Ansari, senior Supreme Court advocate Kapil Sibal, Asaduddin Owaisi, MPs Dharmendra Yadav, Ikra Hasan, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi, BSP MP Priya Saroj, former MLA Irfan Solanki, and Osama Shahabuddin, son of the late Shahabuddin. From Ballia, MP Sanatan Pandey also attended.

During the Nikah, Umar Ansari emotionally remembered his late father Mukhtar Ansari, showing Fatima a photograph of his father. Fatima is the granddaughter of well-known businessman Malik Miyan from Muhammadabad, Ghazipur. Umar Ansari had recently been released from Kasganj Jail on October 30, after being arrested in August over allegations of obtaining false signatures in the name of his mother, Afshan Ansari.

Akhilesh Yadav’s visit underscores his continued close ties with the Ansari family and the Samajwadi Party’s network in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
