Pune, January 29, 2026: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar tragically lost his life in a plane crash while traveling to Baramati. The accident claimed the lives of five people, including the senior leader. Amid widespread grief, a video of Pawar’s speech from four days before the crash has gone viral on social media, capturing his thoughts on fate and the responsibilities of public service.
A Leader Remembered:
Ajit Pawar, affectionately called “Dada,” was known across Maharashtra as a fearless, hardworking, and resilient politician. His sudden passing has left a deep void in the state’s political landscape. Pawar’s speeches and press conferences often moved people, and the recently circulated video is no exception.
In His Own Words:
In the speech, Pawar reflected on the inevitability of fate:
“Who will remain in the service of Yama’s work? Today it is you, tomorrow it may be us. When fate calls, everyone must eventually leave. But while we are alive and working, politics should not be everything. After elections, one must move beyond politics. What truly matters is leaving work behind that brings economic prosperity to the region.”
The video, shared by BJP leader Mahesh Landge, offers a glimpse of Pawar’s wisdom and vision, highlighting his dedication to public welfare beyond political agendas.
Political Leaders and Citizens Mourn:
Landge commented, “Ajit Dada could always speak his mind openly and was relatable to everyone. When the news of the plane crash broke, it was hard to believe. Fate spares no one, and we have lost Dada to this tragic accident.”
Images of Pawar have since flooded WhatsApp statuses and social media, transcending party, caste, and religious lines. His leadership and personal warmth left a lasting impression across Maharashtra. At the time of the accident, Pawar was preparing for upcoming Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections, with four public rallies scheduled on the day of the crash. Fate, however, intervened before he could carry out his commitments.
Ajit Pawar’s untimely death has left Maharashtra politics with an irreplaceable void, and his vision for public service continues to resonate with citizens and leaders alike.
