AIIMS Delhi Sets New Record: Over 4.8 Million Patients Treated in OPD in a Year

New Delhi: AIIMS Delhi has set a new milestone by treating 48,43,572 patients in its Outpatient Department (OPD) over the past year, marking a remarkable achievement in the country’s healthcare sector. The hospital has also witnessed a steady increase in both bed capacity and patient admissions over the years.

Record Numbers in 2024–25
In the fiscal year 2024–25, AIIMS Delhi had a total of 3,657 beds, an increase from previous years. During this period, OPD visits reached 48,43,572, while Inpatient Department (IPD) admissions totaled 3,61,236. Comparisons with 2022–23 figures highlight striking growth: in just two years, 332 additional beds were added, and OPD patient numbers surged by 5,87,771, reflecting a 13.81% rise.

Significant Growth in Admissions
IPD admissions showed even higher growth. While 2,80,770 patients were treated in 2022–23, this number rose to 3,61,236 in 2024–25, an increase of 80,466 patients, equivalent to a 28.65% rise—more than one-third growth in hospital admissions.
