Ahmedabad, Gujarat – In a disturbing incident reminiscent of the Seventh-Day School tragedy, a 10th-grade student in Ahmedabad was attacked by a group of students on Monday around 11 AM. The victim was severely beaten, and according to reports, one of the students even attacked him with a knife. Authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the case.
The attack occurred in a school located in the Ghatlodia Assembly area of the city. The victim was reportedly assaulted by 8–9 students, with one of them wielding a knife. The injured student was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
This unsettling incident comes exactly five months after the death of 10th-grade student Nayan Santani, who was fatally attacked in a similar manner at Seventh-Day School in Ahmedabad. That incident had sparked widespread outrage and led to a temporary closure of the school before classes resumed. The latest attack has once again raised concerns among parents and the local community.
According to ACC B Division officer Jayesh Brahmbhatt, the police confirmed the attack by a group of students outside the school premises. “We reached the scene immediately after receiving information and have taken the victim’s statement. Initial investigations suggest that the attack stemmed from a longstanding rivalry among students,” he said. The police have also secured CCTV footage to aid the ongoing investigation.
The 19 August 2025 incident at Seventh-Day School in Khokhra, where student Nayan was killed by a classmate with a box cutter, remains fresh in public memory, highlighting the urgent need for stricter safety measures in schools.
