Agra: Wife and Cousin-in-Law’s Affair Ends in Husband’s Death

Agra, Feb 13, 2026: In a shocking incident from Lodhai village, Ekta police area, Agra, a clandestine affair between a woman and her cousin-in-law led to the death of her husband in what police are calling a case of deliberate suffocation.

Affair and Fatal Confrontation

The victim, Lavesh, a local electrician, had been married for four years to Gauri from Rajasthan, and the couple had a three-year-old son. For the past five months, Gauri was reportedly involved in a secret relationship with Lavesh’s cousin, Sundar, also an electrician.

On the night of February 9, while Lavesh was asleep, Gauri called Sundar to meet her. The couple was discovered in a compromising position when Lavesh woke up. Fearing exposure, Gauri and Sundar restrained Lavesh and suffocated him using a pillow.

Attempt to Stage Suicide

In a calculated attempt to cover up the crime, Gauri and Sundar hanged Lavesh’s body from a ceiling fan using a makeshift noose from a sari, making it appear like a suicide. The next morning, Gauri called Lavesh’s father, claiming her husband had taken his own life.

Police Investigation and Confession

Suspicious of Gauri’s demeanor, police conducted a thorough interrogation. Under pressure, Gauri confessed to the affair and the murder, revealing how she and Sundar had conspired to kill Lavesh when he caught them together.

The case is currently under investigation, and authorities are determining further legal action against both Gauri and Sundar for homicide and concealment of evidence.
