After Patna, Aurangabad Civil Court Receives RDX Bomb Threat; Court Evacuated

Aurangabad: Panic erupted at the Aurangabad Civil Court on Monday when authorities received an email threatening to blow up the court with RDX explosives. The threat, received around 11 AM, prompted immediate security measures, including the evacuation of the entire court complex. The cybercrime team is now working to trace the source of the email.

Details of the Threat
The email claimed that 4 RDX explosives had been planted in the judge’s chambers and washrooms and could be detonated remotely. Upon receiving the information, court officials and law enforcement took swift action. All court proceedings were suspended immediately, and judges, clerks, lawyers, and litigants were safely evacuated. The email also referenced similar threats to the civil courts in Patna and Bhagalpur. Notably, Patna Civil Court had received a bomb threat earlier that same morning.

Authorities Respond
Lawyer Satish Kumar Snehi noted that this was not the first such threat in Bihar. In recent weeks, several civil courts across the state had received similar emails. Taking no chances, Aurangabad authorities deployed senior police officers, a bomb disposal squad, and investigative teams to thoroughly inspect the court premises—including judicial chambers, record rooms, and legal service centers. Security agencies are continuing a detailed investigation to identify any suspicious objects.

Cyber Team Investigates
Meanwhile, a large crowd of litigants gathered outside the main entrance, frustrated as their hearings were delayed. Lawyers expressed outrage over the threat, emphasizing that such acts not only disrupt the judicial process but also endanger the safety of the public and court officials. The cybercrime team is actively tracing the source of the email, and authorities have assured strict action once the investigation is complete. Court proceedings remain under close security monitoring.
