After ‘Bantoge to Katoge,’ CM Yogi Warns Against Attempts to Alter Demography Ahead of 2027

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has once again issued a strong political message, claiming that attempts are underway to alter the country’s demography through deceit and manipulation. He warned that such efforts are being closely monitored and countered.

Political Context
Known for delivering impactful messages, CM Yogi has previously used slogans like “Bantoge to Katoge” and playful references such as “Pappu, Tappu, Appu” to communicate his points effectively to the public while undermining opposition narratives. Analysts say these statements have resonated across electoral constituencies, influencing voter sentiment in multiple state and by-elections. Now, Yogi Adityanath is addressing the sensitive issue of demographic change.

Statement at Divya Geeta Prerna Utsav
Speaking at the grand Divya Geeta Prerna Utsav held at Janeshwar Mishra Park, the Chief Minister emphasized the role of dharma, duty, and selfless action in society. He warned that certain forces, both in India and abroad, are attempting to attack the soul of the nation by exploiting greed, deceit, and manipulation. “In such times, the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita offer new inspiration to humanity,” he said. The CM added that the Gita promotes a lifestyle rooted in duty, ethics, and human values, which can lead India to unparalleled glory.

Reason Behind the Alert
The remarks come amid a comprehensive revision of voter lists (SIR) being conducted in Uttar Pradesh and several other states. While the BJP claims this process helps eliminate illegal voters, opposition parties, including Congress, have raised concerns and alleged attempts to manipulate electoral rolls. The SIR process gained prominence before the Bihar elections, prompting protests and campaigns by opposition leaders like Rahul Gandhi. Despite controversies, the NDA successfully retained power in multiple states.

Demography and Political Strategy
The BJP has often highlighted demographic changes in specific voter pockets as a concern, framing it as a potential threat to the balance of communities. CM Yogi addressed this issue during an RSS program, underscoring the importance of “Nation First” ideology and coordinated efforts between party and organization to safeguard the country’s integrity. Political analysts suggest that this statement may serve as a major message ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, reinforcing previous slogans and setting the tone for future campaigns.
