
Ashoknagar: A convoy of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia was involved in an accident when three vehicles in the convoy collided due to sudden braking. The vehicles included those of the SDOP, the Tehsildar, and the Mungawali MLA. Ashoknagar SDOP Vivek Sharma sustained serious injuries and was immediately admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
Scindia on a Four-Day Tour
Minister Scindia, who is also the regional MP, is on a four-day tour of the region. On Friday, he attended the Eco Retreat Festival organized by the Tourism Department in Chanderi. According to the schedule, he was to return to Guna later that night. Around 9:30 PM, while passing near GK Marriage Garden in Ashoknagar, the convoy vehicles lost balance, leading to a collision.
Vehicles and Officials Involved
The accident damaged the vehicles of the Ashoknagar SDOP, the Tehsildar, and the Mungawali MLA’s car. Both officials were inside their vehicles at the time of the incident. The SDOP, Vivek Sharma, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the district hospital for immediate medical attention.
Cause of the Accident
Reports indicate that supporters of Minister Scindia had gathered along the roadside to greet him. The sudden braking of the convoy to accommodate the welcome caused the vehicles to lose balance, resulting in the collision. Authorities have confirmed that the incident was unintentional and linked to the abrupt halt of the convoy.
